So, today I traded my Rode NT1A for an Oktava mk 319, which I've propmtly ordered a mod for from http://www.oktavamod.com - so this should be fun. It's already a pretty fair mic, almost comparable to the Rode NT1A, but am looking forward to the mod results - am getting the floating dome with premium electronics.
Also, the Blue Bottle Rocket is killer, the B6 capsule, which is supposed to emulate an akg c12 is sounding great on some vocal work I'm working on.
Oh, have order an electro hamonix 2880 loop gizmo, am psyched to get it and see what kind of zaniness may ensue, especially since it can do sync in both directions over midi, hooray. Especially interested in seeing how the korg kp3 and it get along!
The piano is sounding good, what an adventure getting it up the stairs! Will take another tuning or two to get it up to A440 and tamed after what was probably quite a while of being pretty flat (about 431). It's awesome just having it hear to mess with, am already getting some tune ideas together and trying to actually practice the thing. Since it's an upright I'm finding that opening it up an micing from the top with two small diaphragm condensers is a pretty good method for recording....
